We have a position in our Tax Services Group for an individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, who would like to play a role in a busy, professional environment and who is passionate about exemplary client service.  This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunity for advancement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and complete tax compliance engagements
  • Support senior tax staff in developing and implementing tax solutions that allow our clients to achieve their objectives
  • Assist with resolving client related tax matters through the development of an understanding of the issues, conducting research, and drafting appropriate responses

 

The skills and attributes required for this position include:

  • CPA designation (Canada) would be an asset
  • A desire to complete the CPA In-Depth Tax Course
  • Basic working knowledge of taxation (personal, corporate, GST/HST)
  • Experience in tax planning and compliance for owner-managed businesses would be an asset
  • High degree of initiative

Job Location: St. John’s

We have an opportunity for a Junior Staff Accountant in our Accounting Services Group.  We are seeking a person who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity and would like to play a role in a busy, professional environment and is passionate about exemplary client service.

 

As a member of our Accounting Services Group your responsibilities would include:

  • Preparation of payroll, including pay cheques, vacation pay calculations, Records of Employment and withholding tax remittances
  • Processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • HST preparation and CRA filings
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and general ledger reconciliations
  • Annual filings including annual T-Slips, Workplace NL reporting and HAPSET reporting

 

The skills and behaviors required for this position include:

  • Diploma in Business Management (Accounting) from the College of the North Atlantic or equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting software, desktop and cloud, including Sage 50 Accounting, QuickBooks, and Xero, and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
