Noseworthy Chapman is searching for two individuals interested in joining our firm for a work term placement and pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant Designation.

 

This position is for an individual that is passionate about exemplary client service. Dealing with small business owners daily, you would need an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to be challenged constantly. You must be able to work within government driven deadlines without exception, be able to fit with a group of very experienced accounting, tax and administrative team members, and be able to assist our clientele so that they and we can both succeed.

The successful candidate will possess a moderate level of business and accounting education, and/or combination of experience and training. Accounting Services Group - Junior Staff Accountant Submission Due Date 10/22/18

We have an opportunity for a Junior Staff Accountant in our Accounting Services Group.  We are seeking a person who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity and would like to play a role in a busy, professional environment and is passionate about exemplary client service.

As a member of our monthly Accounting Services Group your responsibilities would include:

  • Preparation of payroll, including pay cheques, vacation pay calculations, Records of Employment and withholding tax remittances
  • Processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • HST preparation and CRA filings
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and general ledger reconciliations
  • Annual filings including T-Slips, Workplace NL reporting and HAPSET reporting

 

The skills and behaviours required for this position include:

  • Diploma in Business Management (Accounting) from the College of the North Atlantic or equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting software including Sage 50 Accounting, QuickBooks and Microsoft suite of products
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
