David brings over three decades of experience in accounting, assurance, tax, mergers & acquisitions, and management advisory services. His expertise also extends to forensic accounting, litigation support, and commercial insolvency services. A recognized authority in his field, David has been qualified as an expert witness in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of Newfoundland and Labrador.

After earning his Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, David began his career with Noseworthy Chapman in 1989. He received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1991, followed by his Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation and Licensed Insolvency Trustee license in 1997.

In 2016 David completed the Directors Education Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors and received the ICD.D designation.

David’s contributions to the profession and his community have earned him significant recognition. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2004, and in 2013, he was elected the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP).

In addition to his professional achievements, David has held numerous leadership roles in both professional and charitable organizations. He is a past Chair of the Board and committee member with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador, and a former Executive and Board member with CAIRP. His volunteer work includes serving as Treasurer for both the United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Belvedere Orphanage Fund, as well as Past President of the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast.

David currently serves as Chair of the Board of the St. John’s International Airport Authority.

Outside of work, David enjoys travel with family and friends as well as snowmobiling. He married his wife Valerie in Maui in 1996, and together they have two daughters, Emily and Ashley.
