Dorothy Keating

Dorothy practices in the field of assurance, accounting, tax, business acquisitions and business advisory services to privately held businesses, charitable organizations, as well as Canadian divisions of internationally corporations located in Newfoundland and Labrador. With over 30 years’ experience, Dorothy, combines the knowledge of her public accounting practice with extensive experience in industry, having held senior management roles in both an international public company and a locally owned and operated Newfoundland and Labrador business to provide comprehensive services and advice to her clients.
A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland ‘s Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree in 1990 She received her professional designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1992.
Dorothy was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2012 in recognition of her contribution to the community and to the profession, and received her Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant designation on the merger of the accounting professions in 2015. In 2020 Dorothy completed the Rotman directors’ education program and received her ICD.D designation and in 2022 she completed her Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation designed to focus on the needs of family-owned businesses.
Dorothy has been involved in many board and volunteer activities throughout her career. She currently serves as a board member with Junior Achievement, Newfoundland and Labrador, and as a board member with Rainbow Riders. Dorothy is a member of the DFK International Women in Leadership Committee which is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of women leadership throughout the DFK association by encouraging and sharing knowledge and expertise with the next generation of women leaders. She is also a member of the Women’s Presidents Organization and the International Woman’s Forum.
Dorothy is married to husband Dave Nesbitt, and they have two daughters, Grace and Olivia.
Dorothy is an avid reader, who enjoys a glass of wine and the opportunity to travel to new places.
