Job Location: St. John’s

We have an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our Accounting Services Group.  We are seeking a person who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity and would like to play a role in a busy, professional environment and is passionate about exemplary client service.

As a member of our monthly Accounting Services Group your responsibilities would include:

  • Preparation of payroll, including pay cheques, vacation pay calculations, Records of Employment and withholding tax remittances
  • Processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • HST preparation and CRA filings.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and general ledger reconciliations
  • Annual filings including annual T-Slips, Workplace NL reporting and HAPSET reporting

 

The skills and behaviors required for this position include:

  • Diploma in Business Management (Accounting) from the College of the North Atlantic or equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting software including Sage 50 Accounting, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
