When I finished school, many of my friends went to other areas of Canada and beyond to find work. Some were able to return in later years but I have been fortunate enough to be able to remain here, be successful in my career and raise my family close to their grandparents and extended families.
Beth’s primary areas of service are corporate and personal tax planning, corporate reorganization and restructuring, taxation of trusts and estates, and personal financial planning.
Beth re-joined Noseworthy Chapman in 2000 and has extensive experience in all areas of taxation. She completed the CICA In-depth Tax Program as well other in-depth courses focusing on taxation for owner-managed businesses, corporate reorganizations and other specialized topics.
Beth is married to Mike Porter and they live in Conception Bay South with their three daughters: Lauryn, Madalynn, and Juliann.
Beth enjoys listening to music, reading, learning guitar and spending time with her family.
Beth graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree in 1995 and received her designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. In 2006 she received her designation as a Certified Financial Planner.
Beth has been an active volunteer in the community and her profession and currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Chartered Professional Accountants of Newfoundland & Labrador (CPANL), as well as the Board of Directors of the CPA Atlantic School of Business. Beth is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
As well as serving as a Board member, Beth also serves on various committees of both CPANL and the CPA Atlantic School of Business. Beth has instructed many professional development courses with CPANL on various taxation topics and has also been a frequent lecturer for business owner-managers, medical, dental and legal professionals, as well as other groups with respect to taxation and financial planning.
